Do You Really Think You Can?

"Sooner or later, those who win are those who think they can."
- Paul Tournier

"No passion so effectively robs the mind of all its power of acting
and reasoning as fear."

- Edmund Burke
How many times in the day to you say to yourself things like, "This is too hard", "I am too tired to keep moving forward." "Why put in the effort, since my chances are slim?" Instead decide to make the choice to think, "I can." Making this decision multiplies your ability to change, succeed and overcome difficulties exponentially.

How could it be this simple? Because it is how our brains work. If we keep harboring reasons why we can’t do something, we think ourselves right out of actually doing and back into fear. It is action which brings the win; which lassoes triumph into our lives.

It is fear that stops us from going forward and doing our best. We fear difficult life circumstances will destroy us or our loved ones. We fear we are not competent, talented or smart enough…or any number of less-thans. So, we put on a façade trying to be more than we are. The secret hiding in our innermost self is we are enough. We can give up our need to control the uncontrollable, we can realize our best self is always within us. We can go from fear to trust. We can accept what life presents to us doing our best instead of being frozen.

What if you decided life is good? You could see yourself and circumstances with more love and humor. You would criticize yourself and others far less. You would have the ability to stop wasting energy on the uncontrollable. Then amazingly, fear doesn’t stay long.
