Insist that Laws be Constitutional
Whenever a bill in congress proposes a new federal law, it should be known that the
proposed law would be constitutional. A determination should be made that the proposed law, if passed, would be permitted by
the
Constitution of the United States of America before that bill is put to a
vote. You might think this is done routinely because it is so obvious that laws must be lawful, but hundreds of laws have been passed that are not
authorized by the constitution. We are suffering because of it. It is simply left to interested parties to challenge the law in the courts. This has proved
ineffective because of the enormous cost involved and because many unconstitutional laws have seemed less than severely threatening at the time. The
proponents of a law can change the constitution by lawful means if there are enough votes in favor. Legislators have hurt the country immensely by
failing to assure that the laws they have proposed are constitutional.
Some Politicians are Trying:
The
Enumerated Powers Act - H.R.125 has been introduced and referred to committee. See progress
Here.
To help assure passage, write to your representatives in the House of
Representatives and in the Senate to urge them to support this principle and to do what they can to promote a law of this nature.

To Contact Your Representatives you will first need your nine-digit zip code. If, like
most people, you only know the first five, this link here will get
you the
whole nine digits. With that number in hand, you can find the
